Corrections and updates to the info above

There are about 1200 students at Westinghouse currently. This is the first year with four classes in attendance, as the first graduates will be the class of 2013.

The principal is Dr. Janice Jackson. Joyce Kenner is the principal of Whitney Young.

Westinghouse College Prep (GWCP) opened in 2009 and houses two college prep programs -- selective enrollment and College-to-Careers -- with two separate admissions processes, but that function as one student body in the core courses.

The "old" Westinghouse building is visible on both the Bing and Google links on the west end of the property located at Kedzie and Franklin Blvd. GWCP's new facility is an absolutely gorgeous $110 million building that is still under construction/vacant in the above links at the far east end of the lot. The old building was torn down and is now the football field, tennis courts, etc. and parking lot. The school website newwestinghouse.org has some great shots of the campus.

Our daughter is a freshman this year and we are very happy with her experience there. She's having a ball and working very hard, with a rigorous course load. No complaints to date. Happy to answer any questions that I can. Go Warriors!
